As soon as it gets warm outside, summer residents begin to fight all sorts of harmful insects that are trying to populate the plot. Ants are no exception.

These persistent "comrades" have their own goal - to build anthills, which can damage any garden bed, flower bed or lawn.

It is not easy to exterminate them.

For large areas you can’t buy enough chemicals, so you have to use more cost-effective and natural methods.

Fennel oil or decoction

If anyone has grown this plant in their garden, they have probably noticed that you won’t see any ants within the perimeter of its placement.

They don't like the aniseed smell of fennel. Therefore, to get rid of pests, you can use the following.

  • A decoction of the herb (100 g of umbrellas or 1 tbsp of seeds per 500 ml of water). This liquid is suitable for spraying and pouring in places where insects accumulate.
  • Essential oil (50 drops per 9 liters of water). This is a more reasonable option, since the oil has a pronounced aroma and is freely sold in pharmacies.

Hot pepper

Hot chili peppers or "Ogonyok" also work well to get rid of ants. The plant is easy to grow, its fruits are dried and ground in a coffee grinder.

Next, this powder is sprinkled on anthills, ridges and between rows in the garden and vegetable garden.

But there is a nuance! During grinding, pepper can produce a lot of dust.

Its particles are very caustic, so it is better to carry out the process wearing protective glasses and a mask.

These methods will not involve summer residents in special expenses, they do not harm the environment, are elementary in implementation, but very effective.
