Will Die in a Week Due to One Mistake: Why Monstera Withers

Monstera has absorbed all the most successful characteristics of a houseplant: it is unpretentious, beautiful and perfectly purifies the air.

But in winter it is very easy to harm the plant. Many housewives forget about an important feature of the monstera.

Make one mistake and instead of a green “tropical friend” you will have a sad, withering plant on the floor or windowsill.

The problem is not in the feeding. In winter it is very easy to overwater the monstera. Due to high humidity the roots of the plant can rot in a week, it will not be possible to save the flower.

When daylight hours are short, photosynthesis slows down, so indoor plants use less water. Consequently, they do not need abundant watering.

It is recommended to water the Monstera in winter no more than once a week. The soil should dry out well not only on the surface, but also deeper.

Another unfavorable condition is air temperature of +16 °C and below. In such a situation, the leaves will wither very quickly, and recovery will take months.
