Diseases of cultivated plants disappoint summer residents no less than their own ailments.
It is believed that in addition to tomatoes and potatoes, cucumbers are also susceptible to various diseases. The worst thing is that some diseases cannot be noticed at an early stage.
Let's figure out what prevents us from growing healthy plants and why cucumbers get sick.
The reason is that the plant loves moist soil and contains a lot of moisture in its stems and fruits.
In such a situation, any damage to the above-ground part carries the threat of spreading pathogenic microorganisms.
But it is difficult. It happens much more often that the conditions for the spread of pathogens are created by the gardener or the weather.
1. Excessive air and soil humidity, which can be caused by heavy rains, improper watering, fog or dew, can harm cucumbers.
2. Due to temperature fluctuations, when warm days are replaced by cool nights, cucumbers may also be in trouble.
3. By choosing an inappropriate place for planting or ignoring advice on arranging drainage in the beds, a gardener can provoke stagnation of moisture.
4. Equally dangerous for cucumbers is the lack of normal ventilation in greenhouses or hotbeds.
5. And the most common mistake gardeners make is watering cucumbers with cold water.
In such cases, cladosporiosis, root and gray (white) rot, powdery mildew, fusarium wilt, anthracnose and other diseases will not take long to appear.
You can protect cucumbers with fungicides and biological preparations. It is better not to treat plants with folk remedies, but to use them for prevention purposes.
