No need to even water: how savvy summer residents grow seedlings in bottles

Summer residents often use plastic containers from drinks and various products as containers for seedlings.

Experienced gardeners have come up with a way to improve simple pots for seedlings.

Using improvised means, you can make a container with a simple self-watering system.

Self-watering pot

The bottle is cut into two parts approximately in the middle. The part with the bottom is put aside for now.

You need a half with a neck. Make a hole in the lid and pull a woolen thread about 10-15 cm long through it.

The thread is tied into a knot under the cork. Water is poured into the part with the bottom. The half with the neck is turned upside down with the lid and connected to the cut part so that the rope reaches the bottom.

The top part is filled with soil with seedlings. The rope will get wet and will become a kind of conductor. Moisture will flow into the homemade pot in moderate quantities.

Thus, watering is not necessary, the soil will always be moist and the likelihood of overwatering the seedlings is reduced to zero.
