If the ficus you have been lovingly growing suddenly starts losing leaves, you should act immediately.
Otherwise, according to the expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , the flower may die.
There may be several reasons for such an unpleasant phenomenon. We will tell you about the most common ones.
1. Of course, "leaf fall" can be caused by natural aging of leaves, which is a completely normal process. It is worth sounding the alarm when losses are massive.
2. On the contrary, you should not worry when changes in the flower’s behavior were noticed in the fall – due to changes in environmental conditions, the ficus may lose a certain number of leaves.
3. Falling leaves are a common sign that the plant is stressed due to changes in conditions. If the ficus does not want to put up with, for example, a new habitat, it makes sense to return the pot to its original place.
4. Leaves can also fall due to a banal lack of moisture. This problem occurs especially often in winter, when the heating devices in the apartment are working at full blast, the thermometer rises higher and higher, and the air in the room becomes dry.
5. Overwatering also has a negative effect on the plant, causing the roots to rot. The only way to help the ficus in this case is to start resuscitating the flower as soon as possible, followed by replanting.
