As you know, potatoes can be grown in the same place for no more than three years in a row, after which the soil should be allowed to recover, that is, to be filled with nutrients again.

An expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh listed ways to restore the soil substrate after long-term cultivation of a crop such as potatoes.

1. Green manure plants

Alternate cereals and legumes with potatoes. Mustard and clover will also help restore fertility and a set of microelements.

Green manure crops can be sown immediately after harvesting or in winter, while adhering to the following density: 200 g of seeds per 10 square meters.

2. Fertilizers

Many gardeners believe that the best way to enrich the soil with useful substances is to use organic matter in the form of manure, compost or droppings.

For 1 square meter you will need 1 medium-sized bucket.

3. Biopreparations

The basis of biological preparations are beneficial microorganisms. They should be applied after harvesting at the rate of 2-3 liters per 1 "square".

Such products as “Ekonomik Urozhainy”, “Biospectr”, “Trichoplant” and others are popular among summer residents.
