One of the most unpleasant surprises for gardeners is to receive rotten fruits instead of normal apples.
Such a "harvest" is not suitable even for compost. The fruits contain pathogenic microorganisms that can attack other fruit trees.
Moniliosis is a fungal disease, the symptom of which is rotten apples on the tree. Other plants are also affected - cherry, pear, plum, etc.
1. Do not plant trees too close together. There should be enough space so that the plants do not compete for food. When planted too close together, the rate of spread of infectious material increases.
2. It is better not to plant trees in lowlands. If possible, it is worth looking for elevated areas where water does not stagnate.
3. Sanitary condition of the tree trunk circle. Fallen leaves, fruits, branches, old mulch and covering material - all this creates a favorable environment for fungus. Therefore, at the beginning and end of the season, you need to clean up the garden.
If the disease appears, it is necessary to treat the trees with a fungicide: captan, skor, fundazol, chorus or preparations based on copper sulfate.
