For gardeners and vegetable growers, the ripening period of the fruits that cultivated plants produce is of decisive importance.
This applies not only to vegetables, but even to fruits. In all this abundance, there are fruits that can be picked unripe, and you need to remember this throughout the season.
First of all, this is done with tomatoes that risk freezing on the branches or dying under the onslaught of late blight. In the end, you can roll up salads, and preparations from green tomatoes are a matter of taste and habit.
1. The tomatoes already mentioned will reach the desired condition at home in the dark at a temperature of about 20 degrees Celsius.
2. Peppers, like tomatoes, can also be eaten unripe. Ripe fruits can be obtained under the bed, in about 2 weeks. Peppers will last even longer at a temperature of 10-12 degrees. Ripening and storage will stretch out for a month.
3. Melon, slightly yellowed, but only with a short tail (from 5 cm) will lie in a dark and warm room (early variety) or in a cool one (late) and will become tastier. The main thing is that it does not rot.
4. It is better to harvest potatoes when the skin becomes hard and dense. If the end of summer or the beginning of autumn is rainy, you will have to dig until the crop rots. It will ripen in 2-3 weeks in a dark, cool room. But the tubers must dry out.
5. Of the fruit and berry crops, black currants, apricots and peaches, apples and pears can be harvested before the due date. In this case, the fruits will even be stored longer.
In addition, among garden crops, corn and pumpkin can be harvested unripe.
