The stupidest mistake that gardeners unknowingly make when growing petunia seedlings: how not to ruin everything at the start

Many gardeners who decide to grow petunias make one unfortunate mistake, which is why they cannot expect lush flowering.

An expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh said that impatience and haste are the cause of incorrect actions.

But first things first. As is known, all plants, and petunia is no exception, have their own biological stages of development.

Thus, from a seed placed in the ground a seedling appears, in which cotyledons and then true leaves develop first.

The stem grows, roots develop, generative organs are laid down - in this case, buds, after flowering of which the seeds begin to ripen.

The generative organs of petunias, as a rule, are laid 8-15 days after the emergence of seedlings, that is, when the true leaves begin to form.

This is where young petunia lovers make that fatal mistake that prevents petunias from revealing their potential during flowering – namely, they transplant.

In this regard, you should remember a simple rule by heart: if you want the plant to bloom abundantly, you can only transplant petunias when they are 25-30 days old after germination, not earlier.
