Gardeners should not forget that trees, no matter how much we would like it, do not live forever and they require young replacements.
An expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh advises to start planting young plants in an old garden as soon as you notice that most of the trees are no longer amenable to rehabilitation and look like they are dying.
There is no need to be afraid to compact the plantings - at first, the plants will not interfere with each other, especially if all the necessary fertilizers are added to the planting hole and the watering schedule is followed.
What you should pay attention to is that you should not plant a new tree in a place where an old one was recently uprooted.
Since there is a possibility that the tree's decline was affected by disease, new plantings will be at risk of infection.
In order not to thicken the plantings, it is enough to leave 3 to 6 m between the trees. The exact distance depends on the size of the crown in adulthood.
This rule should not be neglected - the result of shading and poor ventilation is a decrease in yield and the risk of various diseases.
In this regard, do not plant many trees, or choose seedlings of columnar varieties or on low-growing or medium-growing rootstock.
