Pests in the garden must be fought, no matter how much they multiply and no matter how much skeptics assure you otherwise.

By the way, if you take only one wireworm, then one female during the summer season is capable of laying about 200 larvae, and maybe even more. The rest is pure arithmetic.

Even if there are no other means than chemicals, you should not give up. We will tell you how to make traps against wireworms - cheap and harmless.

Method one – with plastic containers

You will need any plastic containers with the bottom cut off - most often bottles are used. They need to be filled with potatoes, beets and other root vegetables that the parasite most often attacks.

We make holes on the sides of the container so that the wireworm can get inside, and bury the bottles in the ground, leaving the top above the surface.

Every two days we check the "catch", shaking it out together with the contents into a bucket for subsequent destruction - most effectively by fire. Then we renew the bait.

With the same success, you can dig in vegetables in different parts of the garden and change them with the same frequency.

Method two – autumn

After digging up the area, you need to make depressions in different places of the garden. Before the cold weather, put fallen leaves, sawdust or straw in them, slightly moisten, cover with film, plywood.

After a couple of days, the trap is checked; if wireworms have gathered in it for the winter, the contents of the hole are burned, and then the process is repeated.
