Growing a good tomato crop is a troublesome business, but it is worth it, because a home-grown product is incomparable with a store-bought one.
To get pleasing results, you can use the German method of planting. It is available even to novice gardeners. For the work you will need: plastic buckets and inexpensive fresh fish.
The main advantages include: ease of watering (water does not spill over) and protection (the design protects plants from some harmful insects).
As a rule, tomatoes are usually planted in rows.
For the middle zone, the normal time for planting tomatoes in beds is considered to be the first half of May. But polyethylene or agrofibre is stretched over the seedlings.
It is risky to leave it without covering material, as there is a risk of recurrent frosts.
This is only permissible towards the end of the month, and even then it is better to cover the seedlings at night.
