Thin seedlings are a headache and a source of grief for gardeners.

The danger of stretching the sprouts is that they may die and there will be no harvest.

There is a solution to the problem: you need to understand the reason why the seedlings have become thin and are quickly stretching out.

Reasons for seedlings stretching

The main factors causing seedlings to stretch may be errors in cultivation.

Lighting

Lack of light, especially in February and March, when the days are still short and cloudy, will cause the seedlings to quickly stretch out and become as thin as a thread.

Temperature

High temperatures and dry air in the room will make the sprouts stretch out. When the plants are sprouting, the optimal temperature is considered to be within 17-19 degrees Celsius.

In addition, over-watering will have a negative effect on the growth and development of sprouts. Too wet soil, when the soil does not have time to dry out, will definitely lead to the stretching of seedlings.

The seedlings will not grow strong and plump if the crops are too dense.

Under such unfavorable factors, the seedlings may become sick, wither and will have to be disposed of.
