No one will argue that watering is necessary for a good harvest of garden and vegetable crops, including tomatoes.

At the same time, the soil should be moistened evenly, otherwise the tomatoes may crack.

An expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told us what signs will tell you that it’s time to visit your tomato beds with a watering can.

The above-ground part of the plant signals that it needs liquid.

If you see that the leaves are curling up like a boat, this means that the bushes need water.

By closing the top of the leaves, through which moisture evaporates, tomatoes go into liquid-saving mode.

The fact that the situation is critical is indicated by the leaves drooping and beginning to wither.

In the same case, if the leaves bend outward, as if opening the surface of the leaf, they want the moisture to leave faster - you can conclude that there is more than enough water in the soil.
