Daikon has long ceased to be something exotic - often the vegetable from one's own garden is used to prepare salads and other dishes.

An expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told how to plant Japanese radish so that its harvest will please.

To grow daikon, seeds are sown directly into the soil.

Before placing the seeds in the soil, the bed should be dug up - this advice is especially relevant when it comes to varieties with long roots.

Don’t forget to add fertilizer when digging – both mineral fertilizers and organic matter are suitable.

Important: only neutral soil is suitable for growing Japanese radish.

Don't forget about the rules of crop rotation - daikon will grow best in beds where potatoes, cucumbers, legumes and onions were previously "eared".

To prevent the crop from growing into an arrow, you should adhere to the optimal planting dates, which include early spring and early August.
