Why do orchid leaves become soft: what is stopping the flower

A seemingly harmless symptom can have irreversible consequences for the plant.

If the orchid has started to wither, its leaves have drooped and acquired a “boiled” appearance, then it’s time to sound the alarm.

This flower is considered capricious, so the reasons may be different. For example, parasites or too bright sun.

Often orchid owners surround the plant with excessive attention. In such conditions, it is very easy to overfeed the flower. Excessive watering, for example, can cause a fungal disease.

Therefore, experienced gardeners recommend stopping watering first. Also, the orchid should not be fed for several weeks.

The flower should be put in a dark, cool place for 14 days. During this period, the plant is not touched, but only observed.

Even a single watering can worsen the recovery. Constantly high soil moisture can cause the orchid's roots to rot.

The plant will gradually recover on its own, and then it can be returned to its original place. But it is important not to repeat the mistakes, especially when it comes to overwatering.
