Gardeners enjoy growing rose hips on their plots: as a medicinal or ornamental plant.

Probably every gardener knows about the benefits of rose hips: not only the fruits, but also the roots, bark and leaves of the plant are considered medicinal.

To grow healthy rose hips and collect a rich harvest, it is necessary to take care of feeding in a timely manner.

Fertilizers for rose hips

The plant does not like too acidic soil. In this case, it is treated with rotted manure or mineral fertilizers to reduce the acidity.

Both organic and inorganic fertilizers are useful for rose hips.

If you use fertilizers based on urea or potassium nitrate, it is better to first dissolve them in water, and then treat the soil under the bush with the prepared solution. The approximate dosage is ½ tablespoon per 5 liters of water.

This solution is applied under the rose hips during the period when the buds are fully formed. It can be applied in early spring, before the plant awakens after winter.

For early feeding, ammophoska and nitroammophoska are suitable; they can be scattered in the garden during the period of snow melting.
