Few gardeners know how to properly prune bush roses after flowering so that they begin to bloom abundantly again.

Proper pruning of roses in summer

To prevent plants from directing all their energy to seed maturation after flowering, it is better to remove them completely. However, this must be done correctly.

Leave 3 leaves on the branch below with faded flowers, and cut off everything above.

This encourages the plant to produce a second wave of lush rose blooms.

At the same time, trim off broken, dry and poorly developed shoots.

After pruning rose bushes, loosen the soil underneath them.

When it rains, the ground becomes crusty, so plants suffer from oxygen starvation and begin to slow down in growth.

Next, feed the plants so that they regain their strength for new flowering. Alternate root and foliar feeding.

For foliar feeding, use a solution of wood ash. Take 2 cups of ash per 1 liter of boiling water and leave until the morning.

After straining, dissolve in 10 liters of water and treat the bushes. Also, during this period they need to be fed with urea.

To do this, dissolve 1 tbsp of fertilizer in a bucket of water. Or buy a ready-made complex fertilizer in a specialized store.
