Many gardeners complain that every year the harvest of onions and garlic becomes more and more meager.
Why this happens and how to increase the yield of onions and garlic, says the expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .
There are three main reasons for the decline in onion and garlic yields.
The first is degeneration. Some gardeners, for economic reasons, use the same planting material for several years in a row, as a result of which the variety degenerates sooner or later.
Don't skimp on planting material, otherwise you won't see a good harvest.
The second reason is depleted soil. You can't grow the same crops in the same place for years.
Change the location of the garlic and onion beds annually.
The third reason is saving on fertilizers. Without them, you won’t be able to achieve a good harvest. Regularly apply fertilizers, at least regular ash.
