In such a difficult matter, so-called natural indicators can come to your aid.
For example, if horsetail, plantain, creeping buttercup, coltsfoot, dandelion, and garden thistle feel comfortable in the area, this indicates that you have to deal with clay soil.
Sandstone, in turn, is a favorite place for chickweed, wild poppy, milkweed, heather and mullein.
Finally, if alfalfa, milkweed, toadflax, buttercup or pasqueflower are growing freely in the garden and vegetable patch, this indicates a predominance of limestone in the soil.
Plants can also be used to determine the amount of salts in the soil.
Salt-footed sage and glasswort indicate soil salinity. But if the soil contains heavy metals, you can find sleep-grass, pansies and violets on the site.
