Growing Onions in a New Way: Autumn Planting on Ridges

Almost every gardener grows onions on his plot.
There are many methods of planting, but the most interesting and easy of them is Chinese. Such planting does not require much effort and trouble.

The onion sets reach 0.5 cm in diameter. Before planting them in the ground, the onion is soaked in a solution of salt and potassium permanganate.
Planting before winter
The method consists of giving the plant time to take root, but not to produce shoots.
Therefore, it is better to start planting 14 days before the onset of permanent frosts.
Chinese method of planting
Make ridges 20-25 cm high along the area.
Plant the onion in the soil 5-7 cm deep.
The ridges are insulated, and dry grass, fallen leaves or other organic waste are suitable for this.
The bulbs must be exposed manually. However, this is unlikely to be necessary, as it will happen naturally with the help of summer rains and watering.
