If you are determined to get a rich harvest of cucumbers throughout the summer, you should adhere to the basic rules of care.

An expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh said that seedlings intended for open ground should be planted only when the soil is sufficiently warmed up and frosts are unlikely to return.

Despite the fact that cucumbers are moisture-loving plants, you should water the beds only when the top layer of soil dries out.

Mulching will help to retain moisture. You can cover both the root circle and the entire bed with mulch.

In addition, do not forget about the benefits of loosening to prevent crust formation on the soil. The main thing is to do it carefully, since cucumbers have a superficial and very delicate root system.

During the season, at least 4 additional feedings should be carried out. If the summer is warm, it is worth giving preference to root feedings. In the same case, if the summer is cool, apply fertilizer on the leaves.

You should not neglect preventive treatments that will protect plants and, accordingly, future harvests from diseases and pests.

Finally, experienced gardeners never forget to shape and tie up the vines.
