Grow the root crop in well-fertilized soil, preferably with organic fertilizers.
Do not plant beets too close together, leave a distance of 15 cm.
After the first shoots appear, thin out the plantings.
Water the beds on time.
During growth, do not feed beets with manure, it releases nitrogen and grows greenery, not fruit, making it pale and bitter.
The pH for growing should be 6.5-7.5. Add ash and eggshells to acidic soil and plant lupine before planting.
Add bird droppings, peat, sulfates, superphosphates and ammonium hydrophosphate to alkaline soil. Before planting beets, sow mustard seeds.
Three weeks after thinning, fill the beets with the following mixture: dissolve 30 grams of salt and 400 grams of wood ash in 10 liters of water.
Fill the beets with boron at one time, dissolve 10 g of boric acid in 10 liters of water.
