In agricultural technology there are no trifles and procedures of secondary importance. Therefore, having chosen a strong apple tree seedling, it is too early to count on a quick and rich harvest.

Much in this regard depends on how correctly the apple tree was planted. And there are plenty of nuances here.

Mistake when planting an apple tree

Incorrect planting can be called one big mistake, and it consists of an incorrectly prepared hole, failure to apply fertilizers during planting, deepening the collar, and so on.

How to prepare a hole

1. There is one important point that novice gardeners do not pay attention to at all. When digging a hole, the upper fertile layer should be removed to one side, and the deep and less fertile layer to the other.

2. The bottom of the hole must be loosened, drainage must be laid out from broken brick or nut shells, after which the hole is half filled with fertile soil and nutrient composition so that a hill is formed in its center.

3. Prepare the nutrient mixture in advance by mixing:

  • compost - 3 kg;
  • superphosphate - 100 g;
  • potassium chloride - 70 g;
  • For acidic soil, you need to add another 1 kg of dolomite flour.

Landing

Having installed the future support to which the apple tree will be tied, a seedling is placed in the center of the hill. The roots must be straightened, after which the remains of the nutrient mixture and soil are added. It is important to position the root collar so that it is no more than 2-5 cm above the ground.

After planting, the soil can be lightly compacted, 15-20 liters of water can be poured under the tree, humus mulch can be added and the seedling can be tied up.

After such planting, you don’t have to worry about the future harvest.
