Organic waste from the kitchen can be called an excellent fertilizer for the site.

During the cold season, a lot of waste ends up in the trash bin because it is difficult to find a practical use for it.

Experienced gardeners know what waste is worth accumulating, because next year it will only bring benefits.

Which one exactly? This was told by the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", landscape designer and scientist-agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .

Of course, you shouldn't store peelings without preliminary preparation, because they will start to rot. And what's so difficult about washing, drying and taking them out to the balcony for storage?

In the future, potato peelings can become an excellent fertilizer for:

1) root vegetables;

2) berry bushes and other crops.

Potato peelings may contain:

• starch;

• vitamin C;

• glucose and other useful components.

Before use, peelings should be rubbed and used as intended.

Eggshell

Eggshells are rich in the following elements:

1) copper;

2) calcium;

3) iron;

4) phosphorus and others.

The shell not only serves as a fertilizer, but also provides protection against pests and many diseases. Before use, the shell needs to be prepared in advance.

To do this, you need to wash it and dry it on a radiator or in an oven. The shell should be stored until spring in a cloth bag, which will provide good access to oxygen.

Fish bones

Fish bones contain a large amount of potassium, phosphorus and other useful substances. Fish bones are suitable for feeding and prevention of various pests. The optimal method of preparation:

1) fish bones are placed in a container;

2) when the required amount is collected, they can be put through a meat grinder or crushed in any convenient way;

3) Store in a dry and dark place.

Some gardeners simply insert fish bones into the soil to repel mice and moles.

Banana peel

The main components of banana peel are:

• phosphorus;

• sodium;

• potassium.

These elements are necessary for normal growth of plants. There is nothing complicated in harvesting banana peel. The peel is dried a little and sent for storage in a dry place.

It is not necessary to grind or prepare solutions from banana peels. Many gardeners simply scatter the peels on the plot and get maximum benefit, as it will give the soil useful minerals and components.

Bread crusts

Bread crusts contain yeast, which can help out during the fruiting period. The crusts should be stored in a dry, ventilated place.

If traces of mold begin to appear on the crusts, they should be discarded. Bread crusts can be called an excellent alternative to yeast.
