This year, the selling prices for fresh apples and some vegetables are set differently.
The press service of the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of Belarus reminded about this in Telegram.
The new procedure for setting prices for fresh apples, potatoes, beets, white cabbage, carrots, onions, cucumbers and tomatoes was introduced by Government Resolution No. 713 (4) dated 12/29/2023.
According to the resolution, the determining factor in setting prices for apples and vegetables in the current year is not the classification of the said products as a new harvest, but the maximum price at which the same products were sold in the corresponding month of the previous year.
Thus, since January of this year, producers have set selling prices for fruit and vegetable products no higher than 3.5% of the maximum selling price in the corresponding month of the previous year for products harvested in 2022-2023.
If this procedure is followed, there is no need to coordinate prices with government agencies (organizations).
If the products were not sold in the corresponding month of the previous year, prices are agreed upon in the manner specified in paragraph 2 of the resolution.
If it is necessary to set prices at a level higher than that established taking into account the 3.5% limit, the manufacturer must also agree to them.
