There is still time to equip a work place for a schoolchild, and there is no need to rush because buying an ordinary desk has a lot of nuances.

Before deciding on a model, parents need to think about where to place the table, because the ergonomics of the workplace depends on the location in the room.

Yulia Tychino, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" in the field of design and interior, told how to choose a desk for a schoolchild.

First, the space in the room

In such cases, it is recommended to divide the room into zones - sleeping, playing, working. This point should be taken into account when planning a place for a desk.

Secondly, the light source

In addition to a table lamp, it would be good to have a natural light source, so it makes sense to place the table closer to the window.

Here you also need to take into account the characteristics of the student - whether he is right-handed or left-handed. For right-handers, the table is placed to the right of the window, for left-handers - vice versa.

If possible, you can place the table facing the window.

Thirdly, the model

The working surface of the table should be 2-3 centimeters below the chest of a sitting child.

So, for a schoolchild whose height is from 120 to 150 cm, a table with a height of 52-61 cm is chosen.

The 75 cm high table model is considered adult and is suitable for children from 150 cm tall.

After this, you can choose the shape, material and color, as well as a ready-made model or custom-made.
