Is it possible to repaint radiators? The answer to this question is definitely positive, because a renovated heating radiator can turn into a real interior "pearl".
However, before starting work, designer Yulia Tychino, an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, advises familiarizing yourself with some important points.
1. To repaint the battery, wait until the end of the heating season, as the radiator must be cold.
2. Before starting work, clean the battery surface from dust, dirt, traces of rust and other contaminants.
3. When choosing paint, you should consider the type of radiator. Whatever composition you buy, remember that it must be heat-resistant.
4. For this work, it is best to use a brush with a curved head and a long handle, which will help you easily paint over difficult areas.
5. It is better to paint the back and inside of the battery first, and then move on to the front.
6. If during the work process large drops and streaks appear on the radiator, they can be removed using sandpaper.
7. If you don't dry wet things on the radiator and the humidity level in the room is not too high, you can do without applying a finishing coat of varnish. Otherwise, you should buy a heat-resistant varnish.
