There is an opinion that curtains in a room are an obligatory element of decor and without them the interior will seem unfinished.
But it happens just the opposite, and in some cases curtains are not needed at all. Only not everyone pays attention to these points.
Yulia Tychino, an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" in the field of design and interior, told in which cases curtains in the interior will be unnecessary.
Why do we need curtains?
The main purpose is decoration. Curtains often decorate windows, and blinds or their analogues are used to protect from the bright sun in most cases.
Therefore, when a room lacks coziness, comfort and completeness, the windows are decorated with curtains.
Exception to the rule
Firstly, if the room has a small or narrow window, it is better to decorate it with roller (Roman) blinds.
Secondly, in a dark room, thick textiles on the windows are also of no use.
Thirdly, the windows in the bathroom and kitchen need to be closed in a different way. High humidity and other features will create problems with fabric care.
In such cases, it is better to choose blinds.
