How to Use Dark Colors in Interior Design: Designer Tips

Many people consciously exclude dark colors when decorating their interiors. Such a decision can cause a narrowing of space, a touch of gloom, problems with mood, and so on.

To ensure that a dark room does not weigh heavily on your mind, you can use the advice of designers.

Experts advise not to pay too much attention to the prevailing opinion in society, because even dark-colored ceilings can create additional comfort in the room.

1. Until recently, it was believed that dark colors look good only in spacious rooms. Modern experts have concluded that no matter how you "increase" a room with color solutions, it will not become larger in area. But at the same time, dark colors can be used to create a cozy atmosphere and recreation areas.

2. Dark floors look impressive, but you need to clean such a room more often. Relief surfaces help in this regard, making stains and dirt less noticeable.

3. If you paint the walls in dark shades, you need to remember that these surfaces will actively absorb light. In the bedroom, this effect is simply ideal, but in other areas, you will have to provide additional lighting.

4. It is equally important when planning to have an idea of how the furniture will look against the background of dark walls or floors. This is also an element of the interior, but it may not fit into the overall concept so much that you will have to either repaint the walls or change the furniture.
