As a rule, small rugs are placed in front of the sofa or to the side of the bed, however, according to designer Yulia Tychino , an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, this decision often backfires.
The whole point is that small flooring visually narrows the walls, which creates a “dollhouse” effect.
Instead, when choosing textiles, follow this rule: the smaller the room, the larger the rug should be.
Don't be afraid to buy a rug that's the size of the entire room.
In this case, there is only one nuance to consider: the distances from the walls should be within 30-40 cm.
Finally, here’s another useful note: carpets not only can, but should be used to divide a room into zones.
