Herring under a fur coat is a time-tested recipe, but it is only suitable for a festive table if it is a themed party in the style of the 80s or 90s.
But salad fans can give their favorite dish a second life. Here's how.
Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova - a cook, fourth-class baker told how to cook herring under a fur coat in a new way.
1. Boil beets, carrots, potatoes, cool, peel and grate on a coarse grater separately.
2. Boil the eggs hard, separate the whites from the yolks and grate the whites on a coarse grater.
3. Cut the herring into small cubes.
4. Peel and core the apple and grate it on a coarse grater.
5. Mix the curd cream cheese with 2 tbsp. mayonnaise, beat with a fork until smooth.
6. Lay out the layers, greasing each one with a mixture of mayonnaise and cottage cheese: first the potatoes, then the herring, apple, carrot, egg white, beetroot, then the dressing again and sprinkle with pomegranate seeds on top.
Place in the refrigerator for 2 hours and serve, enjoy!
