How to cook Belarusian potato casserole "Myadzvedz": deliciousness from the simplest products

Potatoes, smoked sausage, onions, sour cream...

It would seem that it is impossible to prepare something masterpiece from this set of products.

However, this conclusion is refuted by the very fact of the existence of one rather interesting dish of Belarusian cuisine.

It is called “Myadzvedz” (translated into Russian as “bear”).

The dish is a casserole. And it is incredibly appetizing, despite the rather simple ingredients.

The recipe for the dish was shared by the expert of the online publication Belnovosti in the field of cooking, chef, fourth-class baker Yulia Arkhipova.

How to make a casserole "Myadzvedz"

Chop two onions and fry the resulting pieces in a frying pan. The heating time should be about 4 minutes.

Transfer the browned vegetable mass into a deep container. Add half a kilo of grated potatoes and 250-300 grams of chopped smoked sausage.

Add salt and mix the contents of the bowl thoroughly.

Next, transfer the resulting mass into a baking dish.

Use sour cream as the top layer. Two tablespoons of this fermented milk product will be enough.

Place the form in the oven preheated to 180. The ideal baking time is 45 minutes.

The result will be a gorgeous potato casserole.
