It is difficult to say how many different modified lecho recipes there are. Every Soviet housewife had her own secret.
But overall it all comes down to the combination of bell peppers and tomatoes.
Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova, a cook and fourth-class baker, told how to prepare the most delicious lecho.
1. Cut the clean tomatoes into halves, remove the stems and chop them with a blender or put them through a meat grinder.
2. Clean the peppers of all unnecessary parts, wash and cut into long strips.
3. Mix the ingredients in a saucepan, add the ingredients according to the list, bring to a boil and add vinegar.
4. Cook under a lid on low heat for 45 minutes, pour into sterilized jars, close with lids, turn over and wrap up.
Once they have cooled, the jars are put away for storage.
