Whether it’s a bad recipe or a violation of technology, Easter cakes can become stale after just a few days.

This is, of course, a most unpleasant thing, but you should not rush to throw away treats or feed them to birds.

Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova , a cook and fourth-class baker, told how to make a pie from dried-out Easter cakes.

You will need:

  • Easter cake - 500-600 gr;
  • eggs - 4 pcs.;
  • sugar - 100 g;
  • milk - 0.5 l;
  • butter - 50 g;
  • flour - 1 tbsp;
  • vanilla and apples to taste;
  • a pinch of salt.

How to cook

1. Mix eggs, regular and vanilla sugar, add flour and a pinch of salt.

2. Add milk, stir and place the mixture on low heat. Heat, stirring constantly, but do not bring to a boil.

3. Add butter to the hot mixture, stir – the cream is ready.

4. You will only need the pulp from the Easter cake. The crust and glaze will have to be removed. Cut the core into 1.5 cm thick slices. Divide into two parts.

5. Grease the baking pan with butter. Dip the slices of bread (one part) into the prepared cream and spread them out to cover the bottom of the pan and form sides.

6. Place the apples in the middle.

7. Cut the remaining kulich into cubes, add them to the cream and stir, then spread this mixture on top of the apples, smooth it out, and sprinkle the remaining crumbs and cinnamon on top.

Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 30-40 minutes. Enjoy!
