What to cook with potatoes: an alternative to casserole and potato pancakes

You can make delicious and crispy potato balls from potatoes. You can stuff them or not, and serve them with sauce.

Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova , a cook and fourth-class baker, told how to make potato balls.

You will need:

  • potato;
  • flour - 2 tbsp;
  • egg - 1 pc.;
  • salt and pepper;
  • breadcrumbs;
  • vegetable oil for frying.

How to cook

1. Peel the potatoes, cook until done, mash, but not into a liquid puree and not with a blender.

2. Add flour, egg, salt and spices to taste and mix.

3. Form small balls from the resulting homogeneous mass and coat in breadcrumbs.

4. Place them on a cutting board and put them in the freezer for 3 hours.

5. When ready, heat vegetable oil in a suitable deep container and fry the potato balls for one minute.

Serve with your favorite sauce. Enjoy your meal!
