What to Make with Potatoes: An Unusual Recipe for Japanese Flatbread

It is generally accepted that potato dishes are prepared only in the territory of the former Soviet Union.

It will be interesting to know that potatoes are also present in Japanese cuisine.

Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova , a cook and fourth-class baker, told how to prepare Japanese potato pancake with cheese.

You will need:

  • potatoes - 2 pcs.;
  • milk - 90 ml;
  • flour (wheat) - 150 g;
  • butter - 1 tbsp;
  • salt - 1/8 tsp;
  • bacon to taste;
  • onions - 1-2 pcs.;
  • mayonnaise - 1 tbsp;
  • mozzarella cheese to taste.

How to cook

1. Pour milk into a bowl and add salt and flour, melted butter and knead the dough. Let it stand for 30 minutes.

2. Peel the potatoes and boil until done, mash with a fork, mix with finely chopped bacon, onion and mayonnaise.

3. Roll out the dough, put half of the mozzarella on top, mashed potatoes on top, and then the remaining cheese.

Form a flatbread, pinch the edges and fry on both sides in a preheated frying pan with vegetable oil.
