How to Make Pesto Sauce at Home: Suitable for Fish, Meat, and Salads

The sauce known as pesto is a real salvation for any cook.

As Yulia Arkhipova, an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, explains, thanks to its universal taste, it goes well with various side dishes, meat dishes, and can also be used as an ingredient for salads.

Moreover, it can be used as a base for making sandwiches.

To make pesto, you only need a few ingredients.

You will need to prepare 70 grams of basil, 30 grams of pine nuts, two cloves of garlic, 80 milliliters of olive oil, 50 grams of Parmesan (or any other hard cheese), salt and pepper to give the sauce the desired flavor.

Making the sauce begins with placing all the ingredients in a blender bowl.
First, mix the basil and pine nuts. Then add the grated cheese and chopped garlic. Then pour in the olive oil and mix everything thoroughly again.

The finished sauce is seasoned with salt and pepper, after which the pesto is ready to be served.

In addition to the classic pesto recipe, there are many variations of its preparation. For example, you can use spinach and walnuts, broccoli, cilantro and pumpkin seeds.
