How to Make Homemade Chicken Sausage: Tastier Than Any Store-Bought – and Cheaper

Making homemade sausage is not that difficult.

Many of us mistakenly believe that it is easier to buy ready-made sausage in the store, but, as the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, chef Yulia Arkhipova , says, sausage prepared with your own hands is not only cheaper, but also much tastier and healthier than store-bought options, because a good housewife will never use dyes or preservatives in cooking, which is often done by manufacturers in factories.

To make homemade chicken sausage, you will need the following ingredients.

  • Chicken (or chicken legs) – 1 kg.
  • Broth – 100-150 ml.
  • Garlic - a small head.
  • Salt and pepper – to taste.
  • Nutmeg - a pinch.
  • Ground paprika – to taste.
  • Greens (optional).

In addition, you will need natural casings (lamb or pork).

First, you need to cut out the bones and boil the chicken. You need very little water – about 0.5 liters.

Then the chicken fillet should be minced using a meat grinder or knife. Add salt and spices to the resulting mince and mix thoroughly.

Add the cooled broth to the meat, stir again and put the minced meat in the refrigerator for several hours to let it sit.

After the minced meat has been in the refrigerator, you can stuff it into the natural casing.

All that remains is to place the sausage in a baking dish and put it in the oven for an hour at 180 degrees.
