The right recipe will help you turn orange peels into something very, very tasty, so don't rush to the trash can with peels in your hands after peeling citrus fruits.
Instead, set it aside to make an unusual jam called "curls", for which you will need:
There aren't that many ingredients, so don't waste any time and get started cooking.
To do this, you will need to cut the citrus peel into strips about 8 cm long and 1 cm wide.
Roll each strip to form a figure that resembles a marmalade "snail". Make "beads" from the resulting blanks by threading them with a needle.
Place the beads in a saucepan and pour water over them so that the liquid covers them completely. Wait until the contents of the pan boil, then continue to cook the peel for another 20 minutes and drain the liquid.
Now pour cold water over the crusts. Repeat the same procedure four more times.
We are at the finish line: let's start making the syrup, for which you need to pour sugar into a saucepan and add 300 ml of water to it. Stirring, cook the syrup until the sugar dissolves, then throw in the orange peels and bring to a boil.
All that's left is to add the lemon, cook for another 30-35 minutes and pour the jam into jars, which should already be sterilized by that time. Store orange peel jam in a cool place.
