New Year is coming soon. What New Year's holiday would it be without the universally respected and beloved "Olivier"?

Unfortunately, mistakes are often made when preparing this dish, which do not make the salad as delicious as it could be.

Let's talk about the most common of these incorrect actions.

Overdoing it with products

In order to please all the guests, some try to add as many products as possible to the salad.

However, this leads to the fact that at the end you get a spoiled salad, especially if you overdo it with potatoes, which in this case will interrupt the taste of the other ingredients.

Those in the know advise: for Olivier salad, it is worth using potatoes with a low starch content.

Eggs

In contrast to point 1, sometimes when preparing a salad, the economy mode is turned on.

Often this kind of modesty is shown in relation to eggs. But here it is precisely not worth doing.

Thanks to boiled eggs, Olivier turns out tender and very appetizing, so feel free to add 3 to 5 eggs (depending on size).

Canned peas

Many people add this product to the dish, but experienced cooks recommend using frozen fresh peas instead.

The latter should be boiled in salted water, but only a little bit; you shouldn’t drag out the process.

After this, add the peas to the salad and surprise your guests with the rich taste of the dish.

Meat

The original Olivier recipe did not include sausage; it only included boiled meat.

Therefore, it is recommended to add chicken fillet, turkey or boiled beef, you can even mix different meats.

If you do this, you will get a much tastier and more tempting dish for your guests.
