It's hard to imagine the cold season without special drinks that help warm you up and lift your spirits.
One of the classics is mulled wine.
However, the alcoholic version of the drink cannot be called healthy: any alcohol is harmful to health. Therefore, you can prepare a wonderful version that has solid benefits for the body.
- a liter of natural cherry juice;
- the required amount of sweetener (you can choose between cane sugar and honey);
- three sticks of natural cinnamon;
- a small piece of fresh ginger root (no more than three centimeters);
- star anise;
- four pieces of cloves, cardamom and peppercorns;
- a pinch of nutmeg;
- one lemon.
Wash the lemon thoroughly and cut into slices. Remove all the seeds during this. Peel the ginger root and cut into slices too.
We send the citrus with ginger and spices into a container for cooking mulled wine and add about 100 ml of water. After our preparation boils, you can pour in the juice.
Mulled wine is best simmered over low heat.
The drink should be heated to a maximum of 90 degrees. As soon as you notice that the drink is about to boil, you can turn it off. After that, you can safely serve it to the table.
