Rarely does a housewife allow herself to experiment with the preparation of mashed potatoes, since the side dish is considered classic.
Minor deviations from the recipe are allowed, but the cooking method remains generally the same.
However, few people know that with a couple of tricks, a basic side dish can be prepared as if it had just been brought from a restaurant.
For example, if you like Asian cuisine, you can add characteristic notes to mashed potatoes. This dish can be eaten on its own or be a great addition to absolutely any seafood.
The potatoes need to be boiled until fully cooked in the usual way, drained and brought to the desired consistency using a masher.
Then we prepare a special dressing, which will become the highlight of the side dish.
To do this, combine a couple of spoons of unrefined olive oil with chopped chili pepper. Remember that it is better to remove not only the seeds but also the partitions from the vegetable, as they are quite spicy.
Then take the zest from one medium-sized lime and add it to the olive oil. Squeeze the lime completely and add its juice to the dressing.
You can also add some fresh cilantro for added flavor.
Bring this sauce to a homogeneous state and season the puree. You will be surprised at how much the taste of the usual basic side dish will be transformed.
