First, the cereal needs to be prepared. It should be washed under running water to remove dust and debris.

Even better is to soak the grains in boiling water for a few minutes. Some leave buckwheat in water overnight. It is believed that the longer the grain stands, the more it will be cooked.

Once the grains are dry, they should be roasted in a dry frying pan to better reveal the aroma of the side dish.

Only after all the manipulations should you proceed to cooking.

If the cereal was pre-soaked, then you need to pour water into a saucepan so that the liquid covers the buckwheat. This porridge is cooked for about 15 minutes.

If the soaking stage was skipped, then you need to boil the water, and only then add the cereal. There should be twice as much water as porridge. Cooking will take about half an hour. There is no need to stir the side dish.

When the porridge is ready, you need to let it sit under the lid for a few minutes.
