Semi-finished products don't even come close to this sauce.
Shashlik is often complemented not only with vegetables, but also with ketchup or mayonnaise. This makes the dish tastier, but its healthiness is highly questionable.
Experienced cooks prepare a more dietary dressing, which tastes just as good as mayonnaise or ketchup.
To prepare the sauce, you will need the simplest products, which are easy to find in the summer. For example, summer residents will not even have to go to the store, because, most likely, everything is in the garden.
Finely chop the garlic (10 g), onion (100 g) and herbs (40 g).
Heat tomato paste (560 g) with salt (10 g) and sugar (20 g). Add water. Its amount depends on the desired thickness of the sauce.
Mix the garlic and onion mixture with tomato paste.
This sauce is most often used when serving shashlik, but can also be prepared for many other meat, poultry or fish dishes, which are usually served with mayonnaise or ketchup.
