Shawarma (aka shaverma), which is a lavash stuffed with meat, vegetables, sauces and spices, has many fans.

What you need to make shawarma

You will find the list of ingredients below.

  • Lavash – 1 pc.
  • Chicken fillet – 200 g.
  • White cabbage – 50 g.
  • Cucumbers – 30 g.
  • Tomatoes – 30 g.
  • Onions – 25 g.
  • Garlic – 1 clove.
  • Tomato sauce – 3 tbsp.
  • Mayonnaise – 1 tbsp. l.
  • Apple cider vinegar – 0.5 tsp.
  • Sugar – 0.5 tsp.
  • Salt – to taste.
  • Ground black pepper – to taste.

How to cook shawarma

1. Cut the chicken fillet into pieces and fry in a frying pan until done. Salt and pepper to taste.

2. Chop the cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes. Do the same with the onion, but unlike the other vegetables, add salt, sugar and vinegar. Mix and leave for 10 minutes - this is enough for the onion to marinate.

3. Mix tomato sauce, mayonnaise and garlic passed through a press.

4. Lay out the lavash on the table and spread the sauce on it. Put the fried chicken fillet, cabbage, cucumbers and tomatoes on it. Don't forget about the onion.

5. Roll the lavash into a roll and fry it in a frying pan on both sides until golden brown.

6. Cut the roll into portions and serve hot.
