What prevents you from making a delicious Greek salad: mistakes and tips

Everyone knows the salad called "Greek" with feta cheese and fresh vegetables. It is a favorite summer snack, but not everyone knows what spoils the taste of the salad.

We will tell you about the main mistakes and how to properly prepare the dressing for Greek salad to enjoy its taste to the fullest.

Cooking mistakes

Firstly, you should not use soft feta cheese in the preparation of the dish, which crumbles, becomes soggy and looks unsightly.

Secondly, if there is no other option, it is better to add feta cheese and even Adyghe cheese. There are no other analogues - they spoil the dish.

To prepare you will need:

  • tomatoes (cherry) - 8 pcs.;
  • salad onion (purple) - 1 pc.;
  • feta cheese;
  • 1 cucumber;
  • olives (green olives)
  • vinegar - 20 ml;
  • olive oil;
  • lettuce leaves;
  • salt, pepper, aromatic herbs to taste.

How to cook

Place the lettuce leaves in a deep plate.

It is enough to cut the cherry tomatoes into halves and chop the cucumber into medium cubes.

Cheese is also cut, but not larger than tomatoes and cucumbers.

The onion is peeled and cut into half rings.

Next add olives or black olives (pitted and without brine).

Mix the ingredients and prepare the dressing.

To do this, mix vinegar with a tablespoon of olive oil. Add salt, pepper and spices. Oregano and basil go well with this salad. Mix the dressing, pour over the salad and serve.
