It is considered to be one of the healthiest types of legumes. Therefore, eating chickpeas will help you become a healthier and more energetic person. But not everyone knows how to cook chickpeas correctly.

It is best to start preparing in the evening. Place the chickpeas in a large bowl, add cold water and put in the refrigerator.

In the morning, drain the liquid and fill it with cold water again. Wait two hours. This will make the chickpea texture even more tender.

Then we put the chickpeas in a saucepan. A fairly large amount of liquid is required for cooking, so for a glass of chickpeas you need to take about two liters of water.

After the liquid boils, it needs to be drained and new water added.

Next, cook on low heat for 50 minutes. Add salt and cook for another 10 minutes. This amount of time will be enough to prepare a valuable side dish.

If you want to make hummus or puree from chickpeas, you should cook the legume for two hours.
