It should come as no surprise that some housewives put bread not in the cupboard, but in the freezer.

This storage option allows the product to remain fresh for a long time.

This recommendation is relevant for those families whose members do not eat a lot of bakery products.

If a person knows for sure that recently purchased bread will not be completely eaten in the coming days, then it is advisable to put the product in the refrigerator.

Why Freeze Fresh Bread

It's simple: low temperatures slow down the process of staling of baked goods.

A loaf stored in the freezer and wrapped in several layers of cling film will stay fresh for a long time. It will definitely not spoil or become moldy.

To defrost, simply leave the bread, removed from the freezer and freed from the film, on the countertop and wait for about four hours.

If you need to speed up the process, you can put the frozen product in the oven for five minutes.

Once the defrosting process is complete, the bread will be soft and will seem like a fresh loaf.

Why freeze stale bread

Not only fresh bread can be frozen, but also a product that has already begun to harden.

Stale bakery products should be cut into cubes. The resulting slices should be placed in a plastic bag, and then in the freezer. In this form, the product will be stored for a very long time.

Now the cook will have access to a preparation from which he can quickly make delicious croutons.

A person can take the bag out of the freezer at any time, brush the bread cubes with water, place them on a baking sheet and put them in the oven for 20 minutes.

The end result will be perfect croutons - delicious and crispy. And you won't need to buy fresh bread to make them.
