The remaining pearl barley in the pan should be filled with a new portion of water. Moreover, this should be boiling water, which contains two additives: salt and one tablespoon of melted butter.

In this liquid, the pearl barley porridge should be cooked until it becomes thick. Usually it takes 20 minutes to achieve the desired result.

However, the dish is still far from finished. Only the first stage has come to an end. Next, the pan needs to be removed from the stove and placed in the oven for a couple of hours.

After this, the porridge will be completely ready. The dish will be incredibly aromatic and crumbly.

This is definitely not the kind of dish that is often offered in kindergartens or in the cafeterias of medical institutions.
